Hello, you've reached Rei Hino.
I'm sorry to have missed you.

Please leave a message and I'll contact you as I am able.

Come now, Rei-san, you've already spoiled me this evening. [It's a weak argument at best, though, and she giggles behind a hand as she sits on the couch, turning her back to Rei, and just sort of trying to sit still so she can let her hair down to be able to brush it out.] This... the time before... the cake... it's already above and beyond what is... above and beyond.

I have to complain a little... [There's a little giggle. She is... soothed in a lot of ways by having her hair played with. The gentle tug of the brush, the touch of Rei's hands, it's not long before her eyes drift slowly shut, and a little shiver travels through her body at the affection. She can't lean back into Rei like she almost wants to, without it making her hair situation difficult, but she can relax there.]

[And not only is it comforting, it's the same kind of steady rhythm that lulls her into a peaceful... not-quite-doze. She closes her eyes either way, and she knows what the little gentle pressure at the back of her head means, which begets just a little, sleepy giggle.] ... There, now I really feel spoiled.

[Surely, it won't completely chase off the nightmares, no matter how content she is. And as close as Rei will likely be to her when she does doze off, the jerking awake in the middle of the night will probably continue to wake Rei up, as well.

... But even though she can feel the dark tendrils creeping in the sides of her eyes, closed as they are, she ignores it. Someone is touching her that won't add to the problem. Someone whose touch is genuinely affectionate and caring. That's enough for her. Who would've thought, a poor, tormented spirit such as herself would find someone to so stubbornly want to take care of her. Sleepily, she just mumbles something that feels appropriate for the situation. It's not just because of the brushing her hair, it's a lot more general than that.
] ... Thank you.
