[Rei sets the note aside and puts a hand on her kohai's shoulder.]

I promise, this will be alright. If you need me to talk to her when she returns, I will. But she seems kind and sweet...so I think she'll be willing to forgive.

[ Mami does her best to stay calm, but after a moment she chokes on a sob and covers her face with her hands. ]

Even still... I-I.... [ She sniffles loudly. ] I didn't want to hurt her!

[Rei pulls Mami close, then, into a tight hug.]

[ Mami settles into her hug, hiding her face into Rei. Normally she'd be embarrassed about being so emotional (and maybe later she would be), but... in this moment, she just wanted to let it out. It was a lot for any person let alone a teenage girl with a lot of unaddressed problems...

After some time, she finally breaks away to wipe her face. ]
