[Rei wrinkles her nose a bit and shakes her head, moving to grab Usagi into a tight hug the moment everything was out of the way.

She doesn't like it. But that doesn't mean she doesn't know that Usagi's not going to stop doing it. There's definitely factors at work here that aren't in play at home, but it's not age. It's mostly that she vastly prefers quiet, intimate moments to anything extravagant and showy. Really Usagi needs a book on the care and feeding of introverts. But here there's the added element of Rei's powers being fritzy.]

You can stay. For a little while. I was going to call you over in an hour or so anyway, so this worked out. I am going out with Gwen this evening, and I want time to get ready, but I'll always spend time on my birthday with my special friend.

[The hug gets held for a bit before Rei pulls back.]

I appreciate the gesture. I do like red velvet. and I'm grateful you didn't surprise me with a party, too.

[The concern returns.]

...My powers act up in crowds. I get overwhelmed if I stick around at parties or large gatherings for long times. It's not as extreme as how this place affects some people, but I don't want to deal with that.

[She's surprised when Rei hugs her tight but she's quick to hug her back and let out the breath she didn't know she was holding. She was glad Rei wasn't mad... well... not as mad as she could be. She DID know she was always more high energy than Rei really... liked. She and Minako both...

Someday, maybe, hopefully, she'd get the hang of this.]

Oh, um, what were you going to call me for? [Was it to celebrate? At the mention of Gwen she nodded and smiled.] Have a great evening. [She withheld from saying "date" she had gotten Rei's nerves enough today, best to remain calmer.]

I know you don't like parties. [She does know Rei at least A LITTLE.] I'm sorry that your powers are acting up in that way too... [She was apologizing a lot lately.] No parties, promise.

I was going to ask you to come over so we could spend time together.

[It's her birthday, she's fine with it like this. Something more intimate and special, not the chaotic parties that people their age seem to like.]

It's just this place, but even if my powers weren't a mess, I'd rather avoid a party, you're right. That's not my scene.

[Usagi's clearly learning at least a little bit. Taming her impulses will be a centuries long process probably.]

[Almost all the senshi are introverts so Usagi already gets it.

At the mention of Ruby getting Rei a cane she couldn't stop the laugh that came out.]

[Usagi laughed again, covering her mouth and trying very hard to smother it.]

Well, this would be about the time you become permanently immortal. Does that count as old?

If I haven't stopped aging, I believe I will soon.

No, I agree, that... it's much more important that she was saved. It's always more important. But you said yourself that we can be more open here... not that I plan on... just going "Hi, my name is Usagi Tsukino but you might see me around as Sailor Moon."

I haven't really kept it as much of a secret. So...hmm. Most of the Paladins of Voltron are aware, as is Mami-chan. Chloe, because she's seen inside my memories thanks to a strange fog, and her friend Max. Gwen, Ruby, Diarmuid, and a handful of others.

It's not terribly important, but the people that are closest to me. Or poor unfortunate souls.

Oh, I don't think I've met any of the Paladins. I've met Mami-chan, Chloe, Gwen and Ruby though.

I don't mind not keeping the secret. It'll be nice to be more open about it! We- I've never gotten that chance.

Lance, Allura, Pidge, Shiro, Hunk, and Keith. I haven't...actually met Keith, but I know the others all fairly well.

They're nice. Allura and Shiro have been here forever, though. Unfortunately for them.

That's... right, okay, guess I'll keep my eyes out.

What does... forever mean? Like, what's the longest someone has been here? When did people first get dragged here?

Two years. That's how long this place has been taking people...at least, to my knowledge. Chloe is one of the first, she'd probably be able to tell you more.

[She gave a small nod.]

That's right! Today is Rei-chan's birthday! So today we need to celebrate and be happy!

[She grabbed onto Rei and hugged her again before pulling her further inside her own house.]

Come on come on! Let's have a birthday meal together!

Absolutely.

[And Rei isn't going to fight her on this. Really, she's looking forward to lunch with a friend. It's been too long.]
